Martis Valley Fire Station
The Martis Valley Fire Station was a design-build public works project. D. G. Granade, Inc. worked with the clients to design this station and permit the project through local agencies and TRPA. The station was jointly used by the local fire department and the California Department of Forestry. The design was based on a pre-engineered metal building with insulated metal wall panels and a natural river rock veneer. The interior of the building included separate quarters for each of the fire agencies using it including offices, apparatus bays, living quarters, full kitchens and common living areas.
D. G. Granade’s crew performed the concrete work, erected the metal building, and installed all of the metal roofing and siding. D. G. Granade’s subcontractors performed all other work. Major scopes included framing, drywall, exterior finishes, electrical, plumbing, and metal building.
